“The agency has been invaluable in supporting some of the most complex CLA at Sydenham School. These high needs children all had different presenting issues, from:
  • being in danger of CME and sleeping on the streets
  • getting involved in gangs and CSE
  • to presenting with challenging behaviour to the extent that their impact was felt across the school.
All of these children have remained in education or training as a result of the superb support, tailor-made to the needs of these most vulnerable of our CLA. It is all credit to the dedicated, but most importantly, highly experienced support of the Mentors, that these young people can now look forward to promising and rewarding futures.”

“I think mentoring is a great service for a young person to access. This is where children can relate on a friendly basis instead of in a clinical base. Children open up more to mentors with confidence and manage their emotions better. Engaging with clinical type therapy does not always go down that well with young people. Firstly they feel there is something wrong with them and often they don’t want to see them. If they do get to engage, they take ages to open up and also feel worried that their information will get shared.”

The impact of their work with our young people has been invaluable.

They have worked in partnership with the school working with complex issues ensuring that academic and personal outcomes of the students they support are achieved. Students progress & mental health is at the centre of what they do.  Students feel supported and appreciate the guidance that this service offers. Our current mentor is highly efficient & flexible in her approach and this has helped improve attendance and engagement of their key young people.

A pleasure to work with!!

“[Soulflexion] can justifiably claim to be specialists in achieving outstanding outcomes for our most vulnerable young people. This is particularly the case with young people vulnerable to CSE. Since using [Soulflexion] we have seen attendance improve and exclusions reduce for this cohort. I look forward to continue to work in partnership to ensure our young people continue to receive the same level of expert intervention.”

I have had the pleasure of working with the agency on a number of cases with some very challenging young ladies. I have found them to have the correct balanced approach to each occasion which has undoubtedly added to the young person feeling at ease. The knowledge base of the mentors is key to successful outcomes, and the agency have always shown this.

We have had the support of the agency for a number of children in care who attend our school. They are able to respond quickly to referrals and engage young people with a diverse group of mentors who are skilled and able to focus whilst representing the needs of the young person in and out of school.

They have been flexible in their style , some specialists have acted as learning mentors or social and emotional mentors. One of the mentors was able to highlight key characteristics of a young person to the carers to enable their relationship to improve.

The mentors provided reports as and when required and are easily available.”

“Your flexibility and your ability to work in genuine partnership with the school has been invaluable. The combination of our shared expertise has enabled us to work together effectively on behalf of those students who have particularly complex histories.”
